JCPenney leggings fit question & inexpensive deathfat panties at Big Lots!
Hi fats!
Yeah...that subject line is totally random :)
I scored a pair of awesome floral-print black leggings for $10 clearance at JCPenney today. They're size XL - I'm about 335 lbs and usually wear a size 28 in bottoms (I have a large waist/tummy but smaller thighs/legs.) They seem pretty stretchy in the waist but I'm waiting to try them on due to it being..ahem..."that time" of the month. Supposedly they carry up to size 2x, which is in my weight range per their size chart, but I saw exactly one pair of solid black tights in that size. (I had quite the discussion with the cashier regarding their lack of plus sizes because the plus size clothing area was pretty scarce, too - and the plus size pjs/lingerie nonexistent. Hmmph.)
Anyone tried JCPenney leggings before who can comment on fit? Thanks in advance!

And...Big Lots has Just My Size satin and microfiber panties (hipsters and high-cut briefs - 3 pairs to a pack) for only $5 this week! Lots of different colors and prints! And they're mostly deathfat sizes. I visited two local stores and there were mostly sizes 12 and 13, with a couple 11's thrown in also. I bought 5 packs. If you need undies, go check 'em out! :)

Bathing Suits Review
Hello all and Happy Holidays! I should be studying for a final but this is just a lot more fun. So I just saw the post reviewing some Junonia bathing suits and I realized that I should share my recent experiences in ordering from Lands' End. Actually, I ordered several suits from different locations so my review will be of all of them.

An overwhelming amount of bathing suits this-a way...Collapse )

Tights Round Up Post for 2008!
Hefty Hideaway Girl
Last year I did a huge plus size tights round up post. Since it's getting cold again, I've made a new updated round up post.

I've put an asterix (*) by tights which come in extended sizes (a size 28+ or more than 350 lbs). I've included links to reviews by fatshionista members when possible. If you have comments on some of these tights, let me know and I'll add them to this post. Reviews are especially appreciated from people a size 28 and above). I've made a separate section at the end of this post for tights which fit people who weigh less than about 200 lbs, as a cut off between "tights in plus sizes" and "the largest size of 'regular' sized tights." These reviews are all for U.S. companies, though most will ship overseas. Suggestions for non-U.S. options are definitely desired.

tons of information about tights insideCollapse )

Just My Size bathing suit
Just wanted to offer up a quick review of this swimsuit from Just My Size:

That is SO not me, but I didn't think to snap a picture last night before or after the class I was attending (Aquafit at LA Fitness.

I ordered a 26, even though I'm a solid 30 on bottom according to their size chart. I got the D-cup swimsuit because I have been uncomfortably squished in far too many suits in the past. I'm a 44 DD, so it seemed like a good idea.

Which would be great but this suit seems to run large, even before you climb in the water. In addition, it's a soft-cup suit so if you are looking for something to keep your boobs perky? This is not that suit.

At the same time, because of the strap across the back, my straps stayed in place and my boobs did not fall out despite a significant amount of very energetic jumping around. Nothing was binding.

And the price, ah, the price. At $35 on sale, the price was oh, so right. I just haven't been able to bring myself to spend $100 on a swimsuit for a water aerobics class. Maybe I'll spring for something cuter (and more expensive) if I take a vacation somewhere, but this is a good, solid, serviceable suit AND I can afford more than one. Which is important when attending classes that meet every other day.

I can't tell you how it holds up in chlorine after prolonged use, because the pools at LA Fitness are salt water pools. OMG, salt water pools are so nice.

I CAN tell you that the so-called "tummy control panel" is, thankfully, pretty nonexistent. I was not looking for shapewear in my exercisewear.

I'm definitely going to be buying a second suit - and I'll go down at least one more size and I might just order the regular cup size as well.

And, you know? I might just have to order that pink instead of the black one I got the first time around....

help, please! (camisole with built-in bra)
don't panic
I hope I'm not re-asking a question, but I've looked through the tags and haven't found what I need, so...

I really, really, really want a cami with a built-in bra. My very last one (purchased from WalMart years ago) finally bit the dust, and I need to find more. I went to WalMart today, and the only ones that they have are made of a stretchy polyester which a) clings in a way that I find uncomfortable and b) doesn't look like it would breathe at all, which is a Bad Thing. If only I could go back in time and buy some! :( (Lane Bryant didn't have any, either.)

I've checked online, and while Just My Size has a couple, from the picture, they both look clingy-tight.

I'm not rich, but I'm willing to spend a little extra to get something perfect. I'm a 48 DD (ish), about a size 26/28.

Does anyone out there have a recommendation? Thank you!!!

Just My Size clearance sale

Just My Size is hav9ing a clearance sale. I think there may be an additional discount for adding their address to your e-mail address book, but I'm not sure about that. Just thought I'd mention it. Swimwear, 10% off, bras apparently 50% off. Might be worth a look.

Bra Issue
Hi, All!

Happy New Year!

This is my first post to Fatshionista and what am I posting about? BRAS. LOL

We all have our own personal bra issues, such as finding the perfect bra that's in our size, that's comfortable, affordable, pretty and a good fit. These are my issues, too, and another issue I have is when I wear an underwire bra, it usually begins to poke out in the middle.

I bought this bra from Catherine's yesterday and really like it, though it's a bit smallish. During the course of the night as I wore the bra, the middle started poking out. It could have been due to the fact that the bra was a bit small, but even when I have worn an underwire bra that was my size, the middle still pokes out! Thankfully, I was wearing my coat so no one noticed it much. UGH!

Is there a cure for this?

Tights dye?
Red Little Enid
I wear tights pretty much every time I wear a skirt or a dress. It is my primary weapon against chub rub. I have found my perfect tights (Just My Size “basic tight” in 5x/6x) they are comfy and not TOTALLY opaque. But I get tired of just having dark colors on my legs. I bought some of the “linen” colored ones, but they’re this horrid yellowish white color. Not at all natural, or interesting.

So I’m thinking I want to dye them. Maybe one pair red and one pair pink (though if this goes well, the sky’s the limit). Has anyone had experience dying tights? Or even clothing in general? My main fear is that they’re going to bleed on to my legs or on to other surfaces. I’m also scared that the synthetic material of the tights won’t take in color. Hrm.

If anyone can help me with my possible tight-dying endeavors, it shall be greatly appreciated!
