After some soul searching I just felt wrong wearing such a casual dress to such a big and formal wedding so I went out and purchased a frillier and fancier dress, and I'm feeling pretty good about it, especially as they have an in house seamstress and its going to be fitted and all that!
The closest approximation to the dress is this:

The dress is all one color, fuschia, and does hit about right under the knee. Although it may not look like it on this model, on me and my figure type, it has a very retro Mad Men vibe so I want to do what I can to keep that vibe.
These are the shoes I picked out:

I was having a very hard time finding a shoe because I'm not sure where and how long I have to be able to do any type of Dyeables style shoe, and I prefer a closed toe because of a healing toe that isn't pretty to look at pantyhose or not...
I'm a bit nervous about the shoe because I don't want to look costumey, and I'm starting to fear the pink platform I bought is all wrong, but I'm wondering if I should just order one of the Dyeables shoes that have some silver detailing to break it up. Something like this with the silver pendant detail and then dyed to match the dress:

The scarf I'm wearing is a sheer "ombre" (?) pink. Annnndddd I think that's enough pink!
Here's a picture of me from my last fancy event:

(Just to give an idea of my style and build: I'm 5'9" and around 104 kg)
My idea to break up the pink is to bring some metallics into the mix. Here's some rough thoughts for earrings and purse:

...not sure about the pearls though

Thoughts? Thanks again everyone! You're all a HUGE help! :)

i would go with silver shoes, silver purse, silver jewlery and then a different wrap.

But I am glad everyone agrees the pink shoes are bad. It's so hard though when you can't go out and buy stuff and see everything, when you live in a country with limited options, it can be tough to visualize everything.

Shoe options
I'm not sure if buying from Amazon is feasible for you, but these are gorgeous, and only 22 dollars! They look a little over the top at first, but I think they could definitely work. These ones are also nice. Searching for silver I got a lot of pointy-toed heels, which I think would be even more uncomfortable than fancy heels usually are.Sorry if these aren't much help! If you say where you are, people might be able to recommend stores nearby or websites with good shipping.

Ended up going with that one! Silver shoe with a not too high heel and closed toe, fits all the requirements and even saved 20% with a coupon that expired today. I think it will match well once I get some jewelry and purse :)
